Also survived by ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Thursday, August 24th, at 9:15 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Calling hours Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. OBITUARY:

Katherine L. “Kay” Hogan, a lifelong Woburn resident, passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Saturday evening, August 19th, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Hogan, who died just six months ago.

Kay was born in Woburn eighty-seven years ago, the daughter of the late John F. and Catherine (Gillespie) O’Brien. She was educated in the Woburn school system and graduated from Woburn High School with the class of 1936.

Following her marriage, she traveled extensively with her husband John during his military career. They settled in the Hammond Square section of the city where they raised their five children. Kay devoted her life to caring for her family. She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, with whom she was very close, and in more recent years her great-grandchildren.

A favorite pastime was reading, and she especially enjoyed her weekly lunch dates with her friends for many years.

Along with her husband John, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Rita Shaughnessy and Margaret Gillespie, and two brothers, Daniel and Fred O’Brien.

Surviving are five children, Kathleen M. Kiklis and her husband James of Woburn, John F. “Jack” Hogan, Jr. and his wife Inese of Las Vegas, NV, Stephen P. Hogan and his wife Jeanne of Stoneham, Elizabeth A. Andriolo and her husband Charles of Woburn, and Barbara J. Croteau and her husband Roger of FL, and a brother, Pete O’Brien of Woburn.

She was also the cherished grandmother of Stefanie Capua and Mark Kiklis, Shawna Johnstone, Stephen, Jr. and Michael Hogan, Christen Sullivan, Janelle and Kelly Andriolo, and Brian and Shawn Croteau, and great-grandmother of Ryan, Arianna, Bradley, and Zachary.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Thursday, August 24th, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
