CATHERINE L. (SWATZ) RAYMOND – of Lawrence, May 13th. Beloved wife of the late John A. Raymond. Devoted mother of Michael L. Raymond and his wife Linda of Woburn, John Raymond of Haverhill, and Joan Fraser and her husband Jay and Robert Raymond, all of Baltimore, Maryland. Predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Loving grandmother of Michael D. Raymond of Tewksbury, John D. Raymond of Danvers, Melanie Spencer of Haverhill, and Sara Fraser of Baltimore, MD, and great-grandmother of Christopher, Kyle, & Alexis Raymond of Tewksbury and Joseph and Ainsley Raymond of Danvers. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, May 16th at 9:15 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Calling hours Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen. OBITUARY:

Catherine L. Raymond of Lawrence, mother of Woburn resident Michael Raymond, passed away at the Chelsea Soldier’s Home on Saturday, May 13th, following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late John A. Raymond, who died in 1993.

Born in Cokeburg, Pennsylvania, eighty-seven years ago, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Kulsic) Swatz. She was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Women’s Army Corps.

She resided in Lawrence most of her life and raised her family there. She was a member of the American Legion.

Catherine was the first woman to be admitted to the Chelsea Soldier’s Home, and had resided there for a number of years.

In addition to her husband John, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Surviving are four children, Michael L. Raymond and his wife Linda of Woburn, John Raymond of Haverhill, and Joan Fraser and her husband Jay and Robert Raymond, all of Baltimore, Maryland. She was also the loving grandmother of Michael D. Raymond of Tewksbury, John D. Raymond of Danvers, Melanie Spencer of Haverhill, and Sara Fraser of Baltimore, MD, and great-grandmother of Christopher, Kyle, & Alexis Raymond of Tewksbury and Joseph and Ainsley Raymond of Danvers.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, May 16th at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.

Calling hours at the funeral home are on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
