OBITUARY:

Gloria I. Lutkevich of Woburn passed away at her home here on Saturday, April 15th. She was seventy-four years of age.

Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Grace (Hammond) Harron. She was raised in Cambridge, Somerville, and Stoneham.

An aspiring actress, Gloria was a graduate of the Bishop-Lee Theatre School, which was located in Boston. After marrying her former husband, Joseph Lutkevich, she moved to New York City and continued pursuing her love of theatre in summer stock productions from New York to Pennsylvania.

Eventually Gloria gave up her acting career and devoted herself to raising her five children. They moved back to Woburn thirty-seven years ago.

For a number of years she was employed as a dietary aide at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester.

A voracious reader, she often read eight books in a week, and was a frequent visitor to the Woburn Public Library. In later years she took an interest in sports, and was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.

Most important in her life were her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are four sons, Steven G., Michael J. and his wife Andrea Linehan, Eugene A. and his wife Paula, all of Woburn, and Joseph F. and his wife Christina of Dunstable, a daughter, Adrian I. Hori and her husband Toshi of Miramar, Florida, and three grandchildren, Benjamin and Valerie Lutkevich and Jonathan Hori. She was also the former wife of Joseph P. Lutkevich of New York City, NY.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made in Gloria’s memory to the Woburn Public Library, 45 Pleasant St., Woburn, MA 01801.

Arrangements are being handled by the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, Woburn.
