Patricia A. (Knowles) DeLong, a longtime resident of Woburn, was unexpectedly stricken at her home on Monday morning and later passed away at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington . The beloved wife of Harold J. DeLong Jr , she was seventy two years of age. Born in Arlington, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Marcella (Woods) Knowles. She grew up in Arlington and was a graduate of Arlington High School, Class of 1951. Following high school “Pat???, as she was so well known, married Harold J. While her children were growing up she was very invested and involved in all of their activities and academic achievements. During the summer months, they vacationed at Hampton Beach and enjoyed swimming, sunbathing and relaxing walks on the beach.

Pat was very proud of her Irish heritage, gladly sharing it with all the rest of the family and passing that legacy on to her sons. She was always at the helm for family gatherings, organizing birthdays, anniversaries and most every holiday. She gathered her entire family to celebrate these wonderful occasions which were always held at the Irish American Club in Arlington.

In later years as the family grew, Pat and her husband blessed with four grandchildren and they continued to dedicate their time to attending all of their athletic and academic activities.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Louis Knowles.
