OBITUARY:

Pamela J. Daley, 52, of Woburn passed away at Winchester Hospital Friday evening, February 17th after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the wife of Dana C. Daley for over thirty-three years.

Pam was born in Somerville, the daughter of Joseph P. and Carmella (Correnti) Piraino, who now reside in Florida. She grew up in the Ft. Lauderdale area and attended schools there. Following her marriage she returned to live in Woburn.

She completed her training as a registered nurse at Youville Hospital in Cambridge in 1976, and worked for over thirty years as a visiting nurse. She furthered her education by earning an Associate’s Degree from Middlesex Community College in 1981. Most recently she was affiliated with Mt. Auburn Visiting Nurses, until a year ago when her health began to fail. She had previously been employed for ten years by Winchester Health Care as a visiting nurse.

Pam was devoted to her family, and adored her three grandchildren. Her passion was home decorating, and she was always looking for ways to change the look of a room or add distinctive touches to a space. She also loved to travel, and just a few months ago was able to enjoy a cruise with her husband.

Surviving in addition to her husband Dana and her parents, Joseph and Carmella Piraino of Coconut Creek, Florida, are four children, Paul J. and his wife Michelle, Matthew J. and his fiancee, Jessica McMahon, and Michael J. and Melissa J. Daley, all of Woburn; five sisters, Marsha J. Luis of Shirley, Donna D. Pecora of Lunenberg, Carol Ann Zaldumbide of Coral Springs, Florida, Lorraine E. Rousch of Boca Raton, Florida, and Joanne M. Gonsalves of Lowell; and three beloved grandchildren, Marissa, Lynsey, and Jillian Daley.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, February 21st, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn, at 10. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Donations may be made in Pam’s memory to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Massachusetts Affiliate, P.O. Box 415012, Boston, MA 02241-5012.

There have been so many times during the last few weeks that I have thought to reach for the phone to tell her about something I heard, to ask her advice, just to hear her voice.
I love you all so much too and I will do everything in my power to always be there for all of you. No one needs to tell you how much she loved you and how PROUD she was of each and everyone of you. Honor her always and let the world see what a wonderful mother she was by raising such great children.
