Driscoll – in Woburn, Sunday, February 12th, Eleanor F. “Ellie???, beloved wife of the late William G. Driscoll. Devoted mother of Glen P. Richards and his wife Karen of Woburn, Eleanor “Ellie??? F. Chesbrough and her companion Bill of Plum Island, Debra A. Jones and and her husband Wayne of Merrimac, Thomas G. Richards and his wife Andrea of Wilmington. Dear sister of Walter Dolan Jr. of York, ME and Mary E. Smith of Woburn. Loving grandmother of eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Wednesday, February 15th at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main Street, No.Woburn at 10. Calling hours Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Donations may be made in “Ellie’s??? memory to The Sawtelle Family Hospice House, 320 Haverhill Street, Reading, MA 01867.

OBITUARY:

Eleanor F. “Ellie??? Driscoll, a former, longtime Woburn resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 12th, at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. The beloved wife of the late William G. Driscoll, “Ellie??? as she was affectionately known, was seventy-one years of age. Born in Chelsea, Ellie was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Viola E. (Kaulback) Dolan. Her family home was in Chelsea where Ellie attended school and was a graduate of St. Rose High School. In 1962, she relocated to Woburn where she made her home for many years and devoted herself to raising her four children. During the summer months, Ellie would take her family to the oceanside which she loved. Old Orchard Beach in Maine was a favorite destination and became an annual family tradition including this past summer. In 1986, Ellie married William Driscoll whom she had known for many years. Four years later they moved to Bradford.

Ellie was a baker by profession and was employed by Marriot International for several years. She retired in 1997 but continued to work at Ashland Farms, an assisted living facility, in No. Andover, where she used her talents as a baker and also assisted with the food preparations for the residents. Ellie remained at Ashland Farms until recently when her health when prohibited her from working.

Ellie’s children and later her grandchildren and great grandchildren were always the most important part of her life and she devoted herself to them and cherished every moment.

Ellie was predeceased by her husband, William G. Driscoll who passed away in 1994.

She is survived by her children, Glen P. Richards and his wife Karen of Woburn, Eleanor “Ellie??? F. Chesbrough and her companion Bill Pappas of Plum Island, Debra A. Jones and and her husband Wayne of Merrimac, Thomas G. Richards and his wife Andrea of Wilmington, her siblings, Walter Dolan Jr. of York, ME and Mary E. Smith of Woburn, eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
