RICHARD E. HILL – age 52, of Woburn, suddenly, February 7th. Beloved father of Ashley N. Hill of Attleboro. Loving son of Rose (Lancellotte) Hill of Port Richie, FL, and the late Frederick E. Hill. Dear brother of Frederick and Kenneth, both of Newfield, ME, Loretta King of Billerica, Linda Ash of FL, Donald of Boston, Robert of Sanford, ME, and Mark of Townsend. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Saturday, February 11th, at 8:15 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 9. Calling hours Friday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment is private. Donations may be made in Richard’s memory to the Richard E. Hill Memorial Fund, c/o Northern Bank & Trust, 303 Main St., Woburn, MA 01801.

OBITUARY:

Richard E. Hill, a native of Woburn who had made his home in Gloucester for the past year, died suddenly at his home there on Tuesday, February 7th. The son of Rose (Lancellotte) Hill, now of Port Richie, Florida, and the late Frederick E. Hill, he was fifty-two years of age.

Richard was born in Woburn and attended Woburn schools, graduating from Woburn High School with the Class of 1971. For many years he resided on Lexington Street in Woburn. He was self-employed as a carpenter, having worked in all aspects of construction.

In addition to spending time with his daughter Ashley, to whom he was devoted, he enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He was an avid bowler and was well-known at the Woburn Bowladrome, where he bowled frequently. He competed regularly in ice-fishing derbies and also enjoyed golfing and boating.

Surviving in addition to his daughter, Ashley, and his mother, Rose Hill, he leaves five brothers, Frederick and Kenneth, both of Newfield, Maine, Donald of Boston, Robert of Sanford, Maine, and Mark of Townsend, two sisters, Loretta King of Billerica and Linda Ash of Florida, and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Saturday, February 11th, at 8:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 9. Interment will be private.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Donations may be made in Richard’s memory to the Richard E. Hill Memorial Fund, c/o Northern Bank & Trust, 303 Main St., Woburn, MA 01801.

    Rich,
    You will deeply be missed! You have always been there for us and I just wish we could have been there for you in your time of need.
    Our home is full of happy & fun memories of you and your awesome work, everytime I look around my home I will be thinking of you. You have done so much to help us make our house a home.
    I’m truly going to miss you on our weekly Sunday golf. You were a big supporter of my game and I will never forget that. I loved to play on your foursome, we always had a good time and a few good laughs.
    You are a true friend and will be very deeply missed but NEVER forgotten.
