WILLIAM P. “BUSTER” HOYT – in Woburn, suddenly, January 7th. Beloved husband of Linda J. (Stein) Hoyt. Devoted father of Paul T. Hoyt of Woburn and Suzanne M. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Wednesday, January 11th, at 8:15 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 9. OBITUARY:

William P. “Buster” Hoyt, 58, a well-known Woburn resident and employee of the city, passed away suddenly at Winchester Hospital in Saturday, January 7th. He was the husband of Linda J. (Stein) Hoyt for over thirty-two years.

Buster, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Woburn, the son of the late Ernest and Mary (McGonigle) Hoyt. He attended Woburn schools and graduated from Woburn High School with the Class of 1967.

At the time of his unexpected death he was employed as a dispatcher for the Department of Public Works in Woburn. His courteous and helpful manner was appreciated everyone who called the DPW. Earlier he had worked as Central Dispatcher for the Woburn Fire Department and as a bus driver for North Suburban Transportation Company.

A car lover, Buster was a huge racing fan, and could frequently be found in attendance at the New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon, NH. His greatest joy, however, was being with his family, particularly his grandson Tyler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Hoyt.

Surviving in addition to his wife Linda are a son, Paul T. Hoyt of Woburn a daughter, Suzanne M. Hoyt and her fiance, Geoff Paulding, of Tewksbury, a brother, Richard Hoyt of Plymouth, two sisters, Marie Hoyt of York Beach, Maine, and Rozanne Theodore of Burlington, and his grandson, Tyler Hoyt-Paulding.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Wednesday, January 11th, at 8:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 9. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Donations may be made in Buster’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, Boston, MA 02210.

    We will never gorget the good times we had as a family at 47 Montvale Avenue and now Buster is with his parents and Paul.
