OBITUARY:

Mary Teresa Quigley, a longtime resident of Woburn’s Central Square, passed away at the Woburn Nursing Center on Friday, July 8th, following a long illness. She was the wife of the late John B. Quigley, who died in 1980.

Born in Boston seventy-nine years ago, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Isabelle (McAllister) Ryan. She lived in Quincy until the age of 15, and then moved with her family to Woburn, where she graduated from Woburn High School with the Class of 1944. Following her graduation, she worked for the telephone company as an operator until she was married.

Her life was centered around her children and later her grandchildren, to whom she was devoted.

In addition to her husband John, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Robert Ryan and a sister, Eileen Rickard.

Surviving are a son, John J. Quigley and his wife Janet of Woburn, two daughters, Maureen A. Mulkern and Janis E. Johnston and her husband Paul, all of Woburn, three brothers, Paul Ryan, John “Jack” Ryan and his wife Marjorie, and Daniel Ryan and his wife Mary, all of Woburn.

She was also the loving grandmother of Steven and Lauren Quigley, Kevin, Brian, and Denis Mulkern, and Dylan and Ryan Johnston.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, July 12th at 8:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 9. Interment will take place in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Calling hours at the funeral home are on Monday 4 to 8 p.m.
