MARION B. (BRINK) WADSWORTH – of Reading, formerly of Woburn, June 13th. Beloved wife of the late Dr. James B. Wadsworth. Dear sister of the late Carol Sears. Devoted aunt of Jennifer Chapman and her husband Jonathan C. of Hingham, and grandaunt of Rebecca Martel of Hilton Head Island, SC, Joscelyn Chapman of Hingham, and her nephew and godson, Jonathan J. Chapman of Hingham. Dear cousin of Ann Sargent of Chestnut Hill. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 16th, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 95 Woburn Street, Reading (directions below), at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There are no calling hours. Interment will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. Donations may be made in Marion’s memory to Buddy Dog Humane Society, P.O. Box 296, Sudbury MA 01776. Arrangements by the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, Woburn.

OBITUARY:

Marion Wadsworth of Reading, a former Woburn resident and longtime educator, passed away in North Reading Sunday afternoon, June 13th, following a long illness. The wife of the late Dr. James B. Wadsworth, who died two years ago, she was ninety years of age.

Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Francis N. and Jennie (Hardy) Brink. She attended Woburn schools and was a cum laude graduate of Radcliffe College. She met her husband James when she was studying in France, and they married in 1947. Early in her career she taught English and French in Reading, Barnstable, and Woburn high schools. For many years she taught in Burlington and retired from there.

After living in Woburn for many years, she and her husband took up residence in Reading in 1960. The couple loved to travel, particularly to England, her husband’s native country, and France.

She was devoted to her only sister’s daughter, Jennifer, and was a “second mother” to her and her family.

In addition to her husband, Dr. James Wadsworth, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Sears.

She is survived by her niece, Jennifer Chapman and her husband Jonathan C. of Hingham. She was also the loving grandaunt of Rebecca Martel of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Joscelyn Chapman of Hingham, and her nephew and godson, Jonathan J. Chapman of Hingham.

Marion also leaves a dear cousin, Ann Sargent of Chestnut Hill.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 16th, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 95 Woburn Street, Reading (see directions below), at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There are no calling hours.

*Washington Street becomes West Street

*Woburn Street is about 7/10 of a mile on the right, after you cross the Reading line

*Go right onto Woburn Street and the church is about 7/10 mile
