SUZANNE “Sue” H. (Perkins) DeFreitas – in Woburn, June 6th. Beloved wife of Victor E. DeFreitas.

Devoted mother of James S. Culhane and Alisha L. Culhane, both of Woburn. Dear sister of Carl Perkins of Woburn, Edward Perkins of NC and Linda Gauvreau of TN. Loving daughter-in-law of Julie DeFreitas of Woburn and Manuel DeFreitas of Portugal. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Thursday, June 10th at 9:45 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10. Calling hours are Thursday morning from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Donations may be made in Suzanne’s memory to the James and Alisha Culhane Memorial Fund, Citizens Bank, 355 Main Street, Woburn, MA 01801.

OBITUARY:

Suzanne “Sue??? (Perkins) DeFreitas of Woburn, passed away quietly at home after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 6th. The beloved wife of Victor E. DeFreitas, she was forty-four years of age.

Born in Fort Knox, KY, Sue, as she was affectionately known, was the daughter of David E. and Lorraine G. (Theriault) Perkins. She was a graduate of Greater Lowell Technical High School. As a young girl she traveled throughout Germany, France and England as her father was in the military. Aside from traveling, she had many interests including dancing, sewing, cooking, roller skating, camping and boating.

Sue always had a special love of children and after spending some years in the computer industry, she dedicated herself to them by providing day care services. She worked for Appletree Daycare in Woburn and for the past two years has provided day care in her home. Sue was devoted as well to her two children and was very inspirational to her husband Victor, to whom her was married for eight years.

Sue is survived by her husband Victor E. DeFreitas, her children James S. Culhane and Alisha L. Culhane, both of Woburn, her brothers, Carl Perkins of Woburn, Edward Perkins of NC, her sister Linda Gauvreau of TN, her mother-in-law Julie DeFreitas of Woburn, her father-in-law Manuel DeFreitas of Portugal and many loving nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Thursday, June 10th at 9:45 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10. Interment will be in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Thursday morning from 8 to 9:45 a.m.

    We were so sorry to hear of “Miss Suzanne’s” passing. She was one of our childrens’ teachers at Apple Tree and was a loving and caring person. She will be truly missed. Al, Karen, Erica, and Chris.
