RITA MARIE (BARRETT) FUCILE – in Burlington, formerly of Woburn and Hyannis, December 4th. Beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Fucile. Devoted mother of Kathleen Gross of Peabody, David Fucile of Lynn, Kimberly Waisnor of Reading and the late Rita Elliott and John “Jack” Fucile. Dear sister of Joseph Barrett and Teresa Flores both of Baltimore, MD. Loving grandmother of Paul Ricchi of Lynn, Kriste Leach of OK, Billy King of Burlington, Justin Fucile of Nahant and great-grandmother of Alexis and Jack Leach. “My mom had the most generous heart.” You will be missed. Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday morning, December 11th, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn. A graveside service will follow at the Mosswood Cemetery in Cotuit. In lieu of flowers wish her peace.

OBITUARY:

Rita M. Fucile of Burlington, a former resident of Woburn and Hyannis, passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Thursday, December 4th. The wife of the late Anthony J. Fucile, who died in 1987, she was 79 years of age.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Danehy) Barrett. She attended schools in Concord.

For over thirty years, she made her home in Woburn in the Colonial Road area. Following her husband’s retirement, she took up residence in Hyannis where she lived for a number of years. While living in Hyannis, she worked in the circulation department of the Cape Cod Times. She came back to this area to live in Burlington in 1992.

She was a generous, giving person and is remembered as a strong woman with a huge heart. She was a loving grandmother, and she particularly loved hearing about her grandson Billy King’s football games at Burlington High School.

In addition to her husband Anthony, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Elliott, and a son, John “Jack” Fucile.

She was the mother of Kathleen Gross of Peabody, David Fucile of Lynn, and Kimberly Waisnor of Reading, and dear sister of Joseph Barrett and Teresa Flores, both of Baltimore, Maryland.

She was also the loving grandmother of Paul Ricchi of Lynn, Kriste Leach of Oklahoma, Billy King of Burlington, Justin Fucile of Nahant and great-grandmother of Alexis and Jack Leach.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday morning, December 11th, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn. A graveside service will follow at the Mosswood Cemetery in Cotuit. In lieu of flowers wish her peace.
