VERNA R. (ROBINSON) STASIAK – in Woburn, November 29th. Beloved wife of the late John B. Stasiak. Devoted mother of Sue Foley and her husband Ed “Tanjo??? of Marlton, NJ, Jack Stasiak and his wife Mary of Wakefield, Andy Stasiak and his wife Valerie of Reading, Kim Stasiak of N. Conway, NH, Doug Stasiak and his wife Debe of Woburn, and Beverly Eon of Cambridge. Dear sister of Russell Robinson of Chelmsford and Ray Robinson of Wilmington. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Monday evening, December 1st, at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be private. Donations may be made in Mrs. Stasiak’s memory to the Glenn Foley Wings Foundation, 13 Poinsettia Lane, Marlton, NJ 08053. Late owner Verna’s Doughnut Shop and Cake Decorating Supply of N. Cambridge.

OBITUARY:

Verna R. Stasiak, a longtime Woburn resident, passed away in Reading on Saturday, November 29th, at the age of 82. She was the wife of the late John B. Stasiak, who died three years ago.

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Blanche (Bourque) Robinson. She attended Fall River schools and had made her home in Woburn since 1955.

In 1942 she opened a doughnut and cake decorating shop in Chelsea. She later moved the business to Arlington and since 1945, Verna’s Cake Decorating and Doughnut Shop has been located on Mass. Avenue in North Cambridge. After she and her husband John retired nearly twenty years ago, her sons continued to carry on the business, which is still in operation today.

Mrs. Stasiak was an avid reader and talented seamstress. She also enjoyed cake decorating, playing the organ and cake decorating. Her family was her priority in life, and she particularly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband John, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her children, Sue Foley and her husband Ed “Tanjo??? of Marlton, NJ, Jack Stasiak and his wife Mary of Wakefield, Andy Stasiak and his wife Valerie of Reading, Kim Stasiak of N. Conway, NH, Doug Stasiak and his wife Debe of Woburn, and Beverly Eon of Cambridge, and two brothers, Russell Robinson of Chelmsford and Ray Robinson of Wilmington. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
