Devoted father of Rebecca Elkins and her husband Anthony of Burlington, Jeannine Steadman and her husband Jamie of Woburn, John Duggan and his wife Sharon of Hudson, Colleen Moran and her husband Patrick, Amanda Kelley and her husband David, and Matthew, Melinda, and Kayla Duggan, all of Woburn. Loving son of the late John J. Sr. and Theresa (Nicosia) Duggan. Dear brother of David Duggan of Westford and Lorraine Dulong of Brooksville, FL. Loving grandfather of Michael, Sean, Patrick, Bryan, Emily, Sara, Hannah, Jacob, and Madison. Also survived by two nieces and two nephews. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Thursday, October 2nd, at 9:15 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10. Calling hours Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. OBITUARY:

John J. Duggan, Jr. of Woburn passed away at his home here on Monday, September 29th, at the age of sixty. He was the husband of Jean E. (Downey) Duggan for the past thirty-four years.

Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late John J. and Theresa (Nicosia) Duggan, Sr. He grew up in Burlington and was a graduate of Burlington High School. He served in the Air Force for six years during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged as an Airman First Class in 1967.

Following his service in the military, he obtained his commercial driver’s license and worked as a truck driver for many years. He held membership in Teamsters Union Local 25.

He took up residence in Woburn in 1960. During the 1980’s and early 90’s, he owned and operated the Mug-n-Muffin shop in Woburn Center. Following his retirement in 1997 he drove a limousine on a part time basis.

His family was most important in his life, and he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. His pastimes included crossword puzzles, cribbage and other card games, and collecting baseball cards and coins.

Surviving in addition to his wife Jean are two sons, John Duggan and his wife Sharon of Hudson and Matthew Duggan of Woburn, six daughters, Rebecca Elkins and her husband Anthony of Burlington, Jeannine Steadman and her husband Jamie, Colleen Moran and her husband Patrick, Amanda Kelley and her husband David, and Kayla and Melinda Duggan, all of Woburn; a brother, David Duggan of Westford and a sister, Lorraine Dulong of Brooksville, Florida.

He was the loving grandfather of Michael, Sean, Patrick, Bryan, Emily, Sarah, Hannah, Jacob, and Madison.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Thursday, October 2nd, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Calling hours at the funeral home are on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
