Riley – in Woburn, September 25th, Suzanne E. (Callahan), beloved wife of Leo C. Riley. Devoted mother of Colleen O’Neill and her husband Michael of NH, Timothy of Burlington, Sharon of Woburn, Brian and his wife Paula of Peabody, and Andrew and his wife Judy of Chelmsford. Sister of the late William Callahan. Also survived by three grandchildren, David and Laura O’Neill and Hannah Riley. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Monday, September 29th, at 10:45 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main Street, Woburn, at 11:30. Calling hours Sunday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be private.

OBITUARY:

Suzanne E. (Callahan) Riley, a lifelong resident of Woburn passed away on Thursday, September 25th at home after a lengthy illness. The beloved wife of Leo C. Riley, she was seventy years of age. Born in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Charlotte (Jones) Callahan. Suzanne was educated in the Woburn Public Schools and was a graduate of Woburn High School in 1949. She went on to attend Lesley College where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. After graduating she taught in the Medford School System for three years. In 1955, she married her beloved husband Leo and the made their home in the Central Square area of Woburn. While raising their five children, Suzanne worked a substitute teacher in the Woburn Public Schools so that she could dedicate her time to her family. After her children were grown, she took a position as a full time teacher in Woburn. She was highly regarded in the education field both as a substitute and a full time teacher. She was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association.

Suzanne was predeceased by her brother, William Callahan.

She is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Leo C. Riley, her children Colleen O’Neill and her husband Michael of NH, Timothy of Burlington, Sharon of Woburn, Brian and his wife Paula of Peabody, and Andrew and his wife Judy of Chelmsford and three loving grandchildren, David and Laura O’Neil and Hannah Rose Riley. . Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Monday, September 29th, at 10:45 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main Street, Woburn, at 11:30.
