PAUL W. SANTOGEANIS – of San Dimas, California, formerly of Woburn, May 29th, beloved husband of Elke (Juenemann) Santogeanis. Devoted father of Linda Santogeanis-Crow, Paula Santogeanis, and Susan(Santogeanis) Ruggles, all of Spokane, Washington. Dear brother of Irene Santos of Andover. Also survived by two stepsons, Niels and Jens Henze, four grandchildren, April Rees, Lori Thomas, Greg Rimpau, Rebekah Vonderhellen, six great grandchildren, Hayley, Ryan and Zachary Thomas, Barry Silva, Luke Paul Rees and Braydon Rimpau, two step-grandchildren, Anais and Zoey Henze, nephews David Santos and David Cox and nieces Ellen Miles and Debbie Imbracsio. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, June 3rd, at 12 noon in Woodbrook Cemetery, Salem Street, Woburn. Donations may be made in Paul’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. Arrangements by the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, Woburn.

OBITUARY:

Paul W. “O’Hara” Santogeanis, a native of Woburn, passed away at his home in San Dimas, California, on Thursday, May 29th. The husband of Elke (Juenemann) for the past sixteen years, he was eighty-two years of age.

Born in Stoneham the son of the late George and Marion(Benson) Santogeanis, he was raised in Woburn and attended Woburn schools. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Americal Division of the US Army in Guadalcanal and the Solomon Islands. Following his honorable discharge as a corporal, he served in the National Guard for several years.

He moved to California after the war and pursued his fascination with airplanes, aerospace, and his love of travel by going to work as a planner at McDonnell-Douglas. A self-made man, he continued to educate and improve himself and achieved his dreams, eventually becoming a high-level manager at the aerospace company. He worked for McDonnell-Douglas in Germany for a number of years, retiring in 1984 when he went back to California to live in the Los Angeles area.

In addition to his wife Elke, he is survived by three daughters, Linda Santogeanis-Crow, Paula Santogeanis, and Susan(Santogeanis) Ruggles, all of Spokane, Washington, a sister Irene Santos of Andover, two stepsons, Niels and Jens Henze,four grandchildren, April Rees, Lori Thomas, Greg Rimpau and Rebekah Vonderhellen, six great grandchildren, Hayley Ryan and Zachary Thomas, Barry Silva, Luke Paul Rees and Braydon Rimpau, two step-grandchildren, Anais and Zoey Henze and nephews David Santos and David Cox and nieces Ellen Miles and Debbie Imbracsio.
