Eugenia F. “Jeanne??? (Hayden)Buckley – of Woburn, formerly of Brighton and Mission Hill, May 13th, beloved wife of the late Thomas W. Buckley. Devoted mother of Elena M. Grande and her husband, Dr. Donald Grande of Winchester, and Claire A. Iverson and her husband Dean of Woburn. Sister of the late John Hayden and Claire Welsh. Loving grandmother of Lt. Michael Grande, USN, and his wife Jolene, Diana, Mark, and Jonathan Grande, and Courtney and Craig Iverson. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Thursday, May 15th, at 9:15 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church, 158 Washington Street, Winchester, at 10. Calling hours Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m. Interment in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be made in Mrs. Buckley’s memory to Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center, Linden Alzheimer’s Unit Family Council, c/o Maureen Faretta, Hospital Road, Malden, MA 02148, in appreciation for the loving care their mother received there.

OBITUARY:

Eugenia F. Jeanne” Buckley of Woburn, a former resident of Brighton and Mission Hill, passed away Tuesday morning, May 13th, following a lengthy illness. Wife of the late Thomas W. Buckley, she was eighty-seven years of age.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Cronin) Hayden. She was raised in Mission Hill and graduated from Mission Church High School there. Following her marriage, she moved to West Roxbury for a short period, and then to Brighton where she raised her family.

When her daughters were young, she volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and was very involved in all their activities. After her children were raised, she enjoyed her work at the Division of Employment Security in Boston, where she worked as a secretary for sixteen years until her retirement. She greatly enjoyed traveling throughout the years, and was devoted to her family. In 1989 she moved to Woburn where she lived with her daughter Claire.

In addition to her husband Thomas, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Hayden, and a sister, Claire Welsh.

Surviving are two daughters, Elena M. Grande and her husband, Dr. Donald Grande of Winchester, and Claire A. Iverson and her husband Dean of Woburn, and her beloved grandchildren, Lt. Michael Grande, USN, and his wife Jolene, Diana, Mark, and Jonathan Grande, and Courtney and Craig Iverson.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Thursday, May 15th, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church, 158 Washington Street, Winchester, at 10. Interment in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m.

    I just heard of your mothers passing and wanted to extend my sympathy to you and your family.
    I have many fond memories of your beautiful mother and her loving family.
    I remember the day that Jeanne came to live at Glen Ridge and how hard it was for you all.
    I hope to be able to come tonight but just incase for some reason I can’t, I wanted you to know I am thinking of you.
