Walker in Davenport, Florida, formerly of Woburn, Thursday, May 8th, by accident, Ann Theresa (Fitzmaurice) Walker. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Walker. Dear sister of Catherine Kelley of Woburn, Mary Dedrickson of Pompano Beach, FL, and the late John M. and William J. Fitzmaurice. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and great-grandnieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn on Friday , May 16th at 10 a.m. Arrangements are being handled by the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn.
OBITUARY:
Ann Theresa (Fitzmaurice) Walker of Florida, a former Woburn resident, passed away Thursday, May 8th in Florida, as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident. She was the wife of the late Joseph Walker.
Born in Woburn seventy-four years ago, she was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Pickett) Fitzmaurice. She moved with her family to Cambridge where she graduated from St. Marys High School. Following her graduation, she joined the Sisters of Notre Dame and received a bachelors degree from Emmanuel College. She taught first grade at St. James Elementary School in Salem, and then taught in Hawaii for a number of years in Honolulu. Later she taught in St. Marys in Waltham and Star of the Sea in Marblehead.
She left the order and taught in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She later met and married her husband Joe, to whom she was married for ten years. They lived in Seabrook and later Newmarket, NH. Following her husbands death in 1995, she moved to Florida, where she made her home in Davenport.
Known affectionately to her family as Aunt Ann, and to her friends as Annie,??? she was known for her vivacious personality. At the time of her death she was working part time at Disney World. She had come back to New England every summer to be with family.
She loved to travel and kept in touch with colleagues over the years, enjoying visits to many of them.
In addition to her husband Joe, she was predeceased by two brothers, John M. and William J. Fitzmaurice.
Surviving are her sisters, Catherine Kelley of Woburn and Mary Dedrickson of Pompano Beach, FL. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and great-grandnieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn on Friday , May 16th at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Donations may be made in Anns memory to the charity of ones choice.
