DAVID C. MOORE – in Woburn, Sunday, February 16th, beloved husband of the late Dawn L. (Wheaton) Moore. Devoted father of David C. Jr. and his wife Joan of Auburn, NH, James B. and his companion Diana of Woburn, Beth of Woburn, Frederick and his wife Anne of Billerica, Peter and his wife Alicia of Amesbury and Lynne and her husband Glenn Valente of Westford. Dear brother of Robert Moore of Orange, John Moore of CT , Mary Cressey of NH and the late Josephine. Loving grandfather of thirteen grandchildren.

Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Thursday, February 20th at 9:15 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main Street, North Woburn at 10 a.m. Calling hours Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.

OBITUARY:

David C. Moore passed away on Sunday, February 16th, at Winchester Hospital. The devoted husband of the late Dawn (Wheaton) Moore, he was seventy-six.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Albert and Mary (Flaherty)Moore. He lived in Woburn most of his life, except for a brief time after his marriage in Winchester. He attended Woburn Schools and was the recipient of his high school diploma in 1998, as he had left school and

served in the Navy during World War II. During the war he served aboard the USS Vammen in

Okinawa during the invasion.

Following the war, Dave returned to Woburn and shortly afterwards was married in 1951. During that time Dave had worked building greenhouses for a good number of years. In 1978 he began working at J.J. Reilly’s Leather Company as a night supervisor where he remained until the company closed. He later worked for the City of Woburn at the Pumping Station.

Mr. Moore was very involved with his children, serving as a Boy Scout Leader for many years and taking part in their different athletic events. He was an avid bowler and also enjoyed fishing and gardening, where his specialty was

tomatoes.

After his children had grown and started families of their own he was very active with his grandchildren and so enjoyed spending a great deal of time with them.

Mr. Moore was a member of the St. Anthony Club and the Loyal Order of Moose.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch Cantillon Funeral Home. 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Thursday, February 20th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a

Funeral Mass in St. Anthony Church at 10. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
