CHARLES E. CARROLL, JR. – in Woburn, February 10th, age 81, son of the late Charles E. and Gertrude (Corry) Carroll. Beloved brother of the late Alice Carroll and Marie G. Palmer. Also survived by a niece, Carole Palmer Zumbrunnen

of Penacook, NH, two nephews, Dr. E.L. Palmer 3rd of Auburndale, and Paul C. Palmer of Bethesda, MD. Also survived by several cousins, grandnieces, and a grandnephew. A funeral service will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Saturday, February 15th, at 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9:45 to 10:45, prior to the services.

OBITUARY:

Charles E. Carroll, Jr., 81, a lifelong Woburn resident and longtime educator, passed away in New Hampshire on Monday, February 10th, following an extended illness. Known as “Bud” to family and friends, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Gertrude (Corry) Carroll.

He was educated at Tufts University, Harvard University, and the University of Maryland. He taught at the University of Maryland and finished his career as a teacher and administrator at Melrose High School.

Preceding him in death were two sisters, Alice Carroll and Marie G. (Carroll) Palmer.

Surviving are a niece, Carole Palmer Zumbrunnen of Penacook, NH, and two nephews, Dr. E.L. Palmer 3rd of Auburndale, and Paul C. Palmer of Bethesda, MD.

Also surviving are several cousins, grandnieces, and a grandnephew. A funeral service will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Saturday, February 15th, at 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
