PETERSON, ALICE (OLSON) – in Warwick, RI, formerly of Woburn, Stoneham, and Marshfield, February 7th, at age 96. Beloved wife of the late Norman Peterson. Devoted mother of Russell Peterson of Warwick, RI, and his late wife Arlene, and Roger Peterson and his wife Janet of Marshfield. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 12th, at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Open Bible, 3 Winn Street, Burlington. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, are on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Donations may be made in Alice’s memory to the Church of the Open Bible, 3 Winn Street, Burlington, MA 01803, or to the Cornerstone Church, 1990 Elmwood Avenue, Warwick, RI 02888.

OBITUARY:

Alice Peterson, a former Woburn resident, passed away at her home in Warwick, Rhode Island on Friday morning, February 7th. The wife of the late Norman O. Peterson, who died nearly three years ago, she was ninety-six years of age.

Born in Stoneham, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Betty (Svenson) Olson. She attended Stoneham schools and lived in Woburn and Marshfield before moving to Rhode Island a few years ago.

While living in Woburn, Mrs. Peterson was active, along with her husband, in the Church of the Open Bible in Burlington. She taught Sunday school and was a member of the church choir.

In addition to her husband Norman, she was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers, and her daughter-in-law, Arlene Peterson.

Surviving are two sons, Russell Peterson of Warwick, RI, and Roger Peterson and his wife Janet of Marshfield. Also surviving are five grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 12th, at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Open Bible, 3 Winn Street, Burlington. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

    I was so pleased that Elaine Cummings forwarded me the link to this beautiful photo and obituary. Our family has been blessed with roots of faith. It was so special to be with Aunt Alice this summer the family reunion!
