OBITUARY:
Dominic J. Denaro of Woburn passed away at his home on Sunday, December 22nd, following a long illness. The husband of the late Rita (Ahern) Denaro, who died nearly ten years ago, he was eighty three years of age.
Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Denaro) Denaro. He was raised in Somerville and attended school there. A veteran of World War II, he served in the US Navy as a ships cook.
He worked as a chef in his fathers restaurant in Concord, and later worked at Highlers in Boston and Josephs on Nantasket Boulevard. He owned the Early Bird Restaurant at Countryside in Lexington for a number of years, and also owned a catering business and operated the food service for Container Corporation in Medford.
Mr. Denaro took up residence on Woburns West Side in 1956. He was an avid boater and was Past Commodore of the Riverside Yacht Club. He enjoyed skiing and golfing, particularly in the company of his family.
He was the devoted father of Carol Sacco and her husband Louis of Woburn, Rita Clark and her husband Michael of FL, Paul Denaro and his wife Donna of Woburn and Joseph Denaro and his wife Kathy of MD.
He was the dear brother of Joseph Denaro of Melrose, Sarah Ingegneri of Concord, Nellie Morfeld and Louise Yoast, both of CA, Phyllis Donatos of RI, and Toni Maguire of Arlington. He was also the beloved grandfather of Jennifer and Michael Clark of FL, Paul and Julie Denaro of Woburn and Joseph and Henry Denaro of MD.
The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Friday, December 27th at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Barbaras Church, 138 Cambridge Street, Woburn at 10. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
Calling hours at the funeral home are on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
