Larson – in Woburn, formerly of Medford, November 28th, Helen R. (Regazzini), beloved mother of Kenneth J. Larson of Woburn, Cathy A. Hassard and her husband George J. III of Sandown, NH, and the late Paul W. Larson. Sister of Edward Regazzini of NJ, Marion Lussier of NH, and the late Louise Gaunt. Dear grandmother of Kristin, Christopher, and Christine Hassard, Kerrianne and Paul Larson, Jr., Jessica and Kenneth Larson, and Sharon Kelly. Also survived by her daughter-in-law, Melissa Nelson, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, December 3rd, at 10:45 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 11:30. Calling hours Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Interment is private.

OBITUARY:

Helen R. Larson, a resident of Woburn for many years, passed away early Thursday, November 28th, following a brief illness. She was sixty-eight years of age.

Born in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Hugo and Dorothy (Holland) Regazzini. She graduated from Medford High School and moved to Woburn following her marriage. Since that time she made her home on Beacon Street.

Mrs. Larson worked for over twenty-five years at the Woburn Nursing Center as a nurse’s assistant. She had been retired for over two years. In earlier years she volunteered as a lunch mother at the Clapp School, and she worked at the polls during elections.

She enjoyed knitting as a pastime. She loved to cook, and particularly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her son, Paul W. Larson, and her sister, Louise Gaunt.

Surviving are a son, Kenneth J. Larson of Woburn, a daughter, Cathy A. Hassard and her husband George J. III of Sandown, NH, a brother, Edward Regazzini of New Jersey, and a sister, Marion Lussier of New Hampshire.

She was the beloved grandmother of Kristin A., Christopher A., and Christine A. Hassard, Kerrianne and Paul W. Larson, Jr., Jessica and Kenneth Larson, and Sharon Kelly. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, December 3rd, at 10:45 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 11:30. Interment will be private.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

  1. Dear Cathy and family,
    I am deeply sorry to hear of your lost. You have been a wonderful daughter to your mother. She may not have expressed it in words how much she appreciated everything you did for her, but when you look back at the last few months, you can see by your care that she was happy and acting more like herself. It is a blessing that her pasting was peaceful and quick.
    You should have no reqrets. You did more for her then anyone. Now it is time to honor your mother by taking care of yourself. By taking the time to rest and reflect. We are thinking of you at this sad time.
