Holland – in Weymouth, formerly of Woburn and Reading, July 27th, Mildred L. (McGillvray), beloved wife of the late William Holland. Dear sister of Paul McGillvray of Randolph, Mary O’Donnell and Bob McGillvray, both of Weymouth, Helen Zarella of Hummarock, Walter McGillvray of Seattle, WA, James McGillvray of Canton, Peggy Greene of Halifax and the late John and Thomas McGillvray. Also survived by her sisters-in-law, Peggy McGillvray of Weymouth and Mary McGillvray of Woburn, and many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, July 30th, at 9:15 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 10. Calling hours Monday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. Donations may be made in Mildred’s memory to the VNA Middlesex East, 607 North Ave., Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880. OBITUARY:

Mildred L. Holland, a registered nurse and former Woburn resident who had made her home in Weymouth for the past four years, passed away at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth early Saturday, July 27th, following a brief illness. The wife of the late William Holland, who died in 1974, she was 82 years of age.

Born in Dorchester, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Julia (Fitzsimmons) McGillvray. She grew up in Dorchester and Winthrop and received a degree in nursing from Boston City Hospital School of Nursing. She resided in Woburn for several years and later in Reading for many years before moving to Weymouth four years ago.

Mrs. Holland worked as Director of Nursing at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester for many years until her retirement in 1990. Prior to that she had been employed at Winchester Nursing Center.

In addition to her husband William, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Thomas McGillvray.

Surviving are four brothers, Paul McGillvray of Randolph, Bob McGillvray of Weymouth, Walter McGillvray of Seattle, Washington, and James McGillvray of Canton; three sisters, Mary O’Donnell of Weymouth, Helen Zarella of Hummarock, and Peggy Greene of Halifax; her sisters-in-law, Peggy McGillvray of Weymouth and Mary McGillvray of Woburn; and many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, July 30th, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
