Some years ago, after playing a round of golf at Woburn County Club with Gert, we went in for a drink. We were laughing and smiling over our day and a man came up to her and said ” Gert, you are always laughing and smiling and enjoying everyone” she looked up at him and said “nobody told me I’ll have tomorrow yet but I have today and I’m going to make the most of it”.
Those words became a major influence on my life and I’m a better person for having known and loved Gert McCauley.
