MacDonald – in Woburn, on Monday, July 1st, by accident, Bernard H., beloved son of Jean S.(Dango) MacDonald and the late Robert J. MacDonald. Devoted father of Andrea MacDonald of Woburn. Dear brother of Robert J. Jr. of Waltham, David F. of Woburn, Patricia Downs and her husband David of Nashua and Kimberly Sundberg and her husband Peter of Gardner. Loving uncle to his nieces and nephews, Peter and John Sundberg Jr., James, Timothy, Jenny and David Downs Jr. and Brenda and Robert MacDonald. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Friday, July 5th at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Donations may be made in Bernard’s memory to the American Lung Assn., P.O. Box 265, Burlington, MA 01803-0465. OBITUARY:

Bernard H. MacDonald a lifelong resident of Woburn died suddenly in a tragic motor vehicle accident on Monday, July 1st. The beloved son of Jean S. (Dango) MacDonald and the late Robert J. MacDonald, he was forty-nine years of age.

Born in Ayer, he was raised and educated in the Woburn School System and was a graduate of Woburn High School. In 1972, Bernard was inducted into the Army and served in Viet Nam. Upon returning from his military service, he worked as a machinist for a number of years. Bernard enjoyed fishing and hunting and spent many hours repairing and building motorcycles.

He was predeceased by his father, Robert J. MacDonald.

Surviving is his daughter Andrea MacDonald of Woburn, his mother Jean S.(Dango) MacDonald of Woburn, his brothers Robert J. Jr. of Waltham and David F. of Woburn, his sisters Patricia Downs and her husband David of Nashua, Kimberly Sundberg and her husband Peter of Gardner. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Peter and John Sundberg, Jr., James, Timothy, David Jr. and Jenny Downs and Brenda and Robert MacDonald.
