Sweeney – in Woburn, Wednesday, June 5th, Alice (White) Sweeney, beloved wife of the late Francis A. Sweeney. Devoted mother of Natalie Bartlett of ME and FL and her late son-in-law, Harold Bartlett. Dear sister of Sophie Bryett of NY, Jean Misiewicz of NH, Anna Quagenti of Hyde Park, Edward of WY, William of NH and the late Charles, Chester, Wanda White and Judith Nelson. Also survived by her loving grandchildren, Bradford Bartlett of No. Andover, Brian Bartlett of No. Berwick, ME and three loving great grandchildren. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday, June 7th at 10:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony Church, 851 North Main Street, Woburn at 11:30 a.m. Calling hours Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

OBITUARY;

Alice (White) Sweeney a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away Wednesday, June 5th. The beloved wife of the late Francis A. Sweeney, she was ninety years of age.

Born in South Boston, she was the daughter of the late Henry J. and Sophie (Kaminski) White. Alice was raised in Dedham and attended schools there, graduating from Dedham High School.

In 1951, Alice and her husband made their home in North Woburn. She was a dedicated homemaker as well as an accomplished gardener and enjoyed traveling throughout her life. Most important, however, was her daughter, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Alice was also involved with St. Anthony Church, the Senior Citizens of Woburn and for a period of time she worked for Sylvania in North Woburn, until retiring in 1961.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Francis A. Sweeney, her brothers Charles and Chester, her sisters Wanda White and Judith Nelson and her son-in-law Harold Bartlett.

She is survived by her daughter Natalie Bartlett of Maine and Florida, her grandsons Bradford of No. Andover and Brian of No. Berwick, ME, her sisters, Sophie Bryett of NY, Jean Misiewicz of NH and Anna Quagenti of Hyde Park, her brothers Edward of Wyoming and William of New Hampshire.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday, June 7th at 10:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main Street at 11:30 a.m. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
