DeRosa – in Melrose, May 18th, Mary A. (DiLisi), beloved wife of Peter J. DeRosa. Stepmother of Lynne S. Benedetto of Woburn and Brenda J. Morello of Saugus. Sister of Nicholas DiLisi of Winthrop, Annette D’Amico of Revere, and the late Joseph DiLisi and Connie DiPalma. Also survived by 5 stepgrandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Wednesday, May 22nd, at 9:15 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Calling hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Donations may be made in Mary’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.

OBITUARY:

Mary A. DeRosa of Melrose passed away on Saturday, May 18th, following a long illness. The wife of Peter J. DeRosa for over thirty-five years, she was seventy-eight years of age.

Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Felice and Adelaide DiLisi. She attended East Boston High School and worked in the garment industry for over forty years. She primarily was a seamstress for Leon Clothing in Boston until her retirement in 1986.

For many years, she and her husband resided in Melrose. She enjoyed walking and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph DiLisi, and her sister, Connie DiPalma.

Surviving in addition to her husband Peter are her stepdaughters, Lynne S. Benedetto of Woburn and Brenda J. Morello of Saugus; her brother, Nicholas DiLisi of Winthrop, and her sister, Annette D’Amico of Revere.

She is also survived by 5 stepgrandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Wednesday, May 22nd, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Donations may be made in Mary’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
