Calling hours on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. OBITUARY:

Esther A. Corleto passed away unexpectedly at Mass General Hospital on Saturday,March 30th. The beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Corleto, she was seventy-four years of age. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Visalli) Allegra. She attended school in East Boston and graduated from the Practical Arts High School in East Boston. After high school, Esther went on to the Vesper School of Art, received her Bachelor of Art Degree from Northeastern and earned her graduate degree at Regis College in Weston. She began teaching career at Marycliff Academy where she taught art until 1967. For the next twelve years, she taught in the Woburn Public School System. Ester was an award winning artist and exhibited her works in Rockport, Reading, Woburn and throughout the North Shore. In 1975, she was the recipient of the Woburn Founders Guild Award. In addition to founding the Woburn Guild of Artists, Esther was active in Woburn Sports Inc., the Rockport Art Association, the North Shore Art Association, the Reading Art Association and was a member of the Massachusetts Cultural Commission.

Mrs. Corleto and her husband Joseph first made their home in North Woburn and later moved to the Central Square area. She was very devoted to her family particularly her daughter with whom she made her home.

Mrs. Corleto was predeceased by her husband Joseph A. Corleto. Surviving is her daughter, Patrisha A. Cail and her husband Richard E. Jr. of Woburn, brother Joseph A. Allegra of CA and sister, Madeline Taddonio of Lynn.
