Cronin of Kennebunk, ME, Elizabeth A. “Betty” Harrington of Woburn, Robert W. Cronin of Burlington, Julia Agnes McMorrow of Arizona, and the late John J. and Jerome C. Cronin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, April 2nd, at 9:15 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Calling hours Monday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Donations may be made in Mary’s memory to St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, MA 01801. OBITUARY:

Mary G. Cronin, a teacher in the Woburn elementary schools for thirty years, passed away in Eloy, Arizona, Thursday morning, March 28th, after a brief illness. She had been vacationing there and visiting her sister when she took ill several weeks ago.

Born in Belmont eighty-six years ago, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Julia (Cullinane) Cronin. She grew up in Woburn and graduated from Woburn High School with the Class of 1933. She completed her education degree at Lowell Teacher’s College in 1937, and taught in the Woburn School System from 1941 until her retirement in 1971. Throughout the years she taught primarily third and fourth grades at the Wyman, Golden, and Goodyear Schools.

Following her retirement, she moved to Eloy, Arizona, and after ten years returned to Woburn.

An avid golfer, Mary was a member of the Woburn Women’s Golf Association and held membership at the Woburn Country Club as well as the Andover Country Club for many years. While living in Arizona, she held the distinction of being club champion at the Arizona City Country Club.

She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and passing on her love of golf to her nieces and nephews.

Mary was very involved in St. Charles Church where she was a daily communicant.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, John J. and Jerome C. Cronin, and her niece, Ann M. Harrington.

She was the beloved sister of Paul E. Cronin of Kennebunk, ME, Elizabeth A. “Betty” Harrington of Woburn, Robert W. Cronin of Burlington, and Julia Agnes McMorrow of Arizona. She also leaves her nieces and nephews: Mary Russell of Beverly, Paul Harrington, Jr. of Nashua, NH, John and Jay Harrington, both of Woburn, Peter Harrington of Somerville, Robert Cronin of Lowell, Mary Julia Herick and John McMorrow, both of Arizona, Peter Cronin of New York, Jane Ayoub of Milton, and Liz Urban of Wellesley.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, April 2nd, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Interment will take place in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.

    You are so special to me in so many ways. Everything you have done for me and my family I will never forget. You always had a warm smile and loving arms. Always wanting to help whenever possible, and never wanting to quit until the job was done. I will cherish all the times that we have had together… especially getting to meet Lindsey!
