Wampler – in Woburn, February 12th, 2002, Karen (Johnson), daughter of the late Harry W. and Mary (Fitzgerald) Johnson. Beloved sister of Barbara A. Johnson of Woburn. Also survived by her aunt, Kathleen (Rita) Fitzgerald of Somerville, a niece, a nephew, several cousins, and her longtime companion, Chuck DeStefano. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Saturday, February 16th, at 9:45 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn, at 10:30. Calling hours Friday 6 to 8 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

OBITUARY:

Karen (Johnson) Wampler, a resident of Woburn’s West Side for most of her life, passed away unexpectedly at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington Tuesday evening, February 12th. The daughter of the late Harry W. and Mary (Fitzgerald) Johnson, she was fifty-two years of age.

Born in Everett, she was raised in Woburn and attended Woburn schools. She graduated from Woburn High School with the Class of 1968.

In earlier years, she worked at the NCO Club at Hanscom Air Force Base, and then at Schaal’s in Burlington until a back injury and surgery rendered her disabled for the remainder of her life.

Karen will be remembered as a fun-loving person with a wonderful sense of humor.

Surviving are her sister, Barbara A. Johnson of Woburn, an aunt, Kathleen (Rita) Fitzgerald of Somerville, a niece and nephew, and several cousins. She also leaves her longtime companion, Chuck DeStefano.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Saturday, February 16th, at 9:45 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn, at 10:30. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
