Simpson – in Woburn, suddenly, January 30th, Stewart B., beloved husband of Margaret (Watson) Simpson. Devoted father of Stewart W. Simpson and his wife Janice of Brockton and Lillian M. Marquardt and her husband Gary of Phoenix, AZ. Also survived by two grandsons, Jason and Scott Simpson, and one great-grandchild. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday, February 1st, from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Woodbrook Cemetery, Salem Street, Woburn, at 1 p.m., followed by a memorial service at the North Congregational Church, 896 Main Street, Woburn, at 2 p.m.

OBITUARY:

Stewart N. Simpson, a native of Scotland who had made his home in Woburn for nearly forty years, passed away suddenly at Winchester Hospital early Wednesday morning, January 30th, after having been stricken at his home. The husband of Margaret (Watson) Simpson for over fifty-two years, he was seventy-seven years of age.

Born in Fraberburgh, Scotland, he was the son of the late Gordon S. and Mary Jane (Ritchie) Simpson. He attended British schools and worked as an auto mechanic before coming to the United States in 1964. He settled with his family in Woburn and lived in Medford for a short time before taking up residence in North Woburn.

Mr. Simpson worked as an auto mechanic at Woburn Foreign Motors for more than thirty-five years until his retirement two years ago.

He was an avid outdoorsman who particularly enjoyed fishing and camping. He was also a Life Member of the Masons, Mt. Horeb Lodge, in Woburn.

Mr. Simpson was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters in Scotland.

Surviving in addition to his wife Margaret are a son, Stewart W. Simpson and his wife Janice of Brockton, a daughter, Lillian M. Marquardt and her husband Gary of Phoenix, Arizona, two grandsons, Jason and Scott Simpson, and a great-grandchild,

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 1st, at 1 p.m. at Woodbrook Cemetery, Salem Street, Woburn. Relatives and friends may call at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday from 12 to 12:45 p.m., prior to the burial.

Following the graveside service, a memorial service will be held at the North Congregational Church, 896 Main Street, N. Woburn, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Ingrid Barrett officiating.
