Lindquist – in Woburn, by accident, January 15th, Joel W., age 8, beloved son of Roy D. and Mariann K. (Wespi) Lindquist. Loving brother of Andrew G. Lindquist. Paternal grandson of Virginia (Rydberg) Lindquist of Forestdale and the late John Lindquist, and maternal grandson of George E. and Ruth (Schnetzer) Wespi of Lady Lake, FL. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Mass of the Angels will be celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday evening, January 18th, at 6 p.m. Calling hours will be held in St. Charles Church on Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. Interment will be private. Donations may be made in Joel’s memory to the Clapp Elementary School, 40 Hudson Street, Woburn, MA 01801. Arrangements by the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, Woburn.

OBITUARY:

Services will be held on Friday for Joel W. Lindquist of Woburn, an eight-year old boy who died suddenly Tuesday morning in a tragic accident as he was being dropped off at the Clapp Elementary School in Woburn.

Joel was born at Winchester Hospital on December 16th, 1993, the son of Roy D. and Mariann K. (Wespi) Lindquist. He was a second-grade student at the Clapp School.

A gentle, fun-loving boy, he was a good friend and loving son and brother. He loved playing soccer with the Woburn Youth Soccer program, and enjoyed swimming at the YMCA, where he was involved in the after-school program. He also attended summer camp at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, where he had many friends.

Joel was especially good working with his hands, loved constructing with Legos, and was just beginning to become proficient at snowboarding.

In addition to his parents, Roy and Mariann Lindquist of Woburn, he leaves his younger brother Andrew, his paternal grandmother, Virginia (Rydberg) Lindquist of Forestdale, his maternal grandparents, George E. and Ruth (Schnetzer) Wespi of Lady Lake, Florida, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
