Jackson – in Burlington, January 14th, Eleanor O. (Ingersoll), beloved wife of the late George E. Jackson. Devoted mother of George E. Jackson, Jr. of Tewksbury, Barbara J. Svenson of Burlington, and Marjorie P. Bedley of Billerica. Sister of the late Herman, Fred, and William Ingersoll, Elsie Proctor, and Marion Ryan. Sister-in-law of Esther Ingersoll and Phyllis Ingersoll, both of Billerica. Also survived by 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, and grandmother of the late Richard Jackson. A funeral service will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Thursday, January 17th, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Calling hours are Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Donations may be made in Mrs. Jackson’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701, or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 220 N. OBITUARY:

Eleanor O. Jackson of Burlington passed away at Winchester Hospital on Monday, January 14th, at the age of ninety. She was the wife of the late George E. Jackson, who died in 1975. Born in Everett, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Eleanor (Proctor) Ingersoll. She attended school in Arlington and lived there until she took up residence in Burlington over forty years ago. She worked as a waitress in earlier years, and then worked for Raytheon.

Mrs. Jackson raised her family in Burlington and was very active right up until the time of her death. She loved traveling with her family and enjoyed shopping trips throughout New England. In recent years she was a member of the senior group at the Tower Hill Apartments in Burlington, where she was a resident.

In addition to her husband George, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Herman, Fred, and William Ingersoll; two sisters, Elsie Proctor and Marion Ryan; and her grandson, Richard Jackson.

Surviving are a son, George E. Jackson, Jr. of Tewksbury; two daughters, Barbara J. Svenson of Burlington and Marjorie P. Bedley of Billerica; and two sisters-in-law, Esther Ingersoll and Phyllis Ingersoll, both of Billerica. She was also the beloved grandmother of eighteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Thursday, January 17th, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tracy Frink officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Calling hours are Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
