Frieswick – suddenly, in Ft. Myers, Florida, formerly of Woburn and Walpole, January 6th, Jean W. (Roessler), beloved wife of J. Robert Frieswick. Devoted mother of Georgia S. Frieswick of Ft. Myers, and loving grandmother of Derek R. and Justin L. Summerville of Ft. Myers. Sister of the late George Roessler. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 11th, at Woodbrook Cemetery, Salem and Beach Streets, Woburn, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, Woburn.
Jean W. (Roessler) Frieswick, a former resident of Woburn, passed away unexpectedly at Southewest Regional Medical Center in Ft. Myers, Florida, on Sunday, January 6th. The wife of J. Robert Frieswick for over fifty years, she was seventy-three.
Born in Winchester and raised in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Louis O. and Estelle (Reno) Roessler. She graduated from Woburn High School with the class of 1946, and received her bachelor’s degree from Lowell Teacher’s College in 1950. Following their marriage, she and her husband took up residence in Walpole.
For over thirty years, she taught first grade at the Stone Elementary School in Walpole. During this time, she spent summers in Falmouth, and moved to Florida with her husband following her retirement in 1982. Most recently they have resided in Fort Myers.
In addition to her husband Bob, Jean is survived by her daughter, Georgia S. Frieswick of Ft. Myers, and two grandsons, Derek R. and Justin L. Summerville, both of Florida.
Preceding her in death was a brother, George Roessler.
A graveside service will be held at Woodbrook Cemetery, corner of Salem and Beach Streets, Woburn, on Friday, January 11th, at 11 a.m., with Rev. James G. Todd of the United Methodist Church officiating. There are no calling hours.
