Chu – in Woburn, January 2nd, Anita T. (Taa), beloved wife of the late Thomas Chu. Devoted mother of Alfredo Chu and his wife Josephine, Jaime Chu and his wife Rose, and Flordeliza Chu Tangco and her husband Tony, all of the Philippines, Roger Chu of Woburn, and Robert Chua of Somerville. Also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main St., Woburn, on Monday, January 7th, at 8:15 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn, at 9. Calling hours Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. Entombment in the mausoleum at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. OBITUARY:

Anita T. Chu of Woburn, a native of the Philippines, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Wednesday, January 2nd, following a lengthy illness. Wife of the late Thomas Chu, she was eighty-one years of age.

Born in the Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Severino and Espirita (Bernus) Taa. She was educated in the Philippines, and served as a volunteer in the Women’s Army Corps during World War II. She was in the restaurant business with her husband for many years until his death in 1977. She came to the United States in 1981 and obtained her American citizenship in 1986. Since 1990, she had made her home in Woburn with her son, Roger.

A fun-loving woman, she enjoyed many trips throughout Europe over the years, and treasured the time spent with her family.

Surviving in addition to her son Roger are her sons, Alfredo Chu and his wife Josephine, Jaime Chu and his wife Rose, and daughter, Flordeliza Chu Tangco and her husband Tony, all of the Philippines, and her son Robert Chua of Somerville. She was also the beloved grandmother of Kristin, Kristofer, Rowena, Nikko, Mark, Jen-Jen, and Angeli, and great-grandmother of Adriane and Tristan.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Monday, January 7th, at 8:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn, at 9. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.
