Speros – in W. Palm Beach, FL, formerly of Woburn, suddenly, April 24th, 2001, Aristides C. “Artie” Speros, Jr., beloved son of Aristides C. and Evangeline (Lipa) Speros of W. Palm Beach and S. Yarmouth, formerly of Woburn. Dear brother of Philip A. Speros and his wife Lisa of Woburn. Loving uncle of Nicole and Michael Speros of Woburn. A funeral service will be held in the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 70 Montvale Avenue, Woburn, on Monday, April 30th, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. Interment in Forest Hills Cemetery, Jamaica Plain. Donations may be made in Artie’s memory to the Artie C. Speros, Jr. Scholarship Fund, Austin Prep, 101 Willow Street, Reading, MA 01867.

OBITUARY:

Aristides C. Speros, Jr., known to family and friends as “Artie”, died suddenly at his home in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Tuesday evening, April 24th, 2001. The son of Aristides C. and Evangeline (Lipa) Speros, Sr., he was thirty-three years of age.

Born in Winchester, he grew up in Woburn and graduated from Austin Preparatory High School in Reading with the class of 1985. He received a bachelor’s degree from Stetson University in Florida, and completed his law degree at St. Thomas School of Law in Florida. He worked for an investment firm in Atlanta, Georgia, as the chief financial officer for six years before taking up residence in Florida a year ago.

Surviving in addition to his parents, who reside in South Yarmouth and West Palm Beach, are a brother, Philip A. Speros and his wife Lisa of Woburn, and his niece and nephew, Nicole and Michael Speros of Woburn.

A funeral service will be held in the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church on Monday, April 30th, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery in Jamaica Plain.

Calling hours will be at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m.
