Gillespie – in Quaker City, Ohio, formerly of Woburn and Winchester, February 22nd, 2001, Frances C. (Finn), beloved wife of the late Michael Gillespie and the late Leonard V. MacDonald. Devoted mother of Mrs. Larry (Anne) Mason of Quaker City, Ohio, and William L. MacDonald of Wakefield. Stepmother of Helen McCarthy of Ocean Springs, MS, and the late Edward Gillespie. Sister of the late Henry, George, James, Neil, and William Finn. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral was held this morning from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church at 12 noon. Interment took place in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. Donations may be made in Frances’ memory to the St. Charles School Educational Fund, 8 Myrtle Street, Woburn, MA 01801.

Services were held on Monday, February 26th, 2001, for Frances C. Gillespie, a native of Woburn who passed away in Quaker City, Ohio, on Thursday, February 22nd. The wife of the late Michael Gillespie, who died in 1979, and the late Leonard V. MacDonald, who died in 1961, she was ninety-one years of age.

Born in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret G. (Lynch) Finn. She graduated from St. Charles High School and was a member of the St. Charles Alumni Association throughout her life.

Mrs. Gillespie worked at Winchester Hospital for many years as a clerk in various departments, including Central Service, the laboratory, and the administrative offices. She took up residence with her daughter, Anne Mason, in Ohio in 1995.

In addition to her late husbands, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Henry, George, James, Neil, and William Finn; a stepson, Edward Gillespie, and grandson, Edward Gillespie, Jr.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Larry (Anne) Mason of Quaker City, Ohio, her son, William L. MacDonald of Wakefield, her stepdaughter, Helen McCarthy of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held this morning from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church. Interment took place in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
