Angela C. Barreira, a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away in Cambridge on Saturday, February 17th, 2001, following a long illness. She was the wife of the late John T. Barreira, who died just over a year ago.
Born in Belmont 85 years ago, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Stafana (Costantino) Bonanno. She graduated from Belmont High School and attended trade school following her graduation. She worked for the Viking Company, which was involved in manufacturing military clothing, in Cambridge for several years, and later worked for Bonanno Laundry as a supervisor for nearly forty years.
Mrs. Barreira had made her home in Woburn for the past forty-four years.
In addition to her husband John, to whom she was married for forty-three years, she was predeceased by two brothers, Nicholas Bonanno of Lexington and Salvatore Bonanno of Connecticut.
Surviving are her sister, Constance Bonanno, and two brothers, Anthony and Rosario Bonanno, all of Belmont. She was also the loving aunt to thirteen nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Tuesday morning from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 11:15. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn.
