Services were held on Monday, February 19th, for Blanche A. Murray, a longtime resident of Burlington, who passed away on Friday evening, February 16th, 2001, following a long illness. The wife of the late Hugh P. Murray, who died in 1977, she was 91 years of age.
Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine (Pladewicz) Zdanowski. She graduated from Cambridge Latin High School. She had made her home in Burlington since 1933.
Mrs. Murray was one of the founders of St. Margaret’s Parish. She was instrumental in the fundraising efforts for the construction of the church in its former location, which was at the corner of Winn and Central Streets in Burlington. She continued to be involved in parish activities throughout her life.
She was employed for a number of years in the credit department at the First National Bank of Boston.
In her later years, she volunteered her time at the Burlington Senior Center.
She is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Roads of Marblehead, Blanche Mulrenan of Woburn, and Patricia Gentile of Billerica. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, followed by a funeral mass in St. Margaret’s Church, Burlington. Interment followed in Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Burlington.
