Devoted mother of Beverly Burgess and her husband William of Arlington, Kenneth Palmer and his friend Joanne, Roger Palmer and his wife Janice, and Judith Simonds and her husband James, all of Woburn, Janice “Dolly” Jablonski of N. Billerica and her late husband Edward, and Robert Palmer and his wife Carolyn of Wakefield. Sister of the late Harold, Manuel, Harry, and Charles Stephanian. Loving grandmother of fifteen grandchildren and the late James Simonds, Jr. Also survived by six great-grandchildren. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Saturday, February 17th, at 9:15 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Calling hours Friday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be private. Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice Care, Inc., 41 Montvale Avenue, Stoneham, MA 02180.

Frances S. Palmer of Woburn passed away on Thursday, February 15th, 2001, at her home following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Lloyd Palmer, who died in 1962.

Born in Watertown eighty-five years ago, she was a graduate of Watertown High School. In early years she worked for Colonial Meat Packing in Boston, and served as shop steward in the meatpacker’s union.

She had made her home in Woburn for over fifty years. She was an avid sports fan and particularly enjoyed watching the Celtics and Red Sox. Her focus in life was her family, and she maintained an active involvement with the activities of her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Lloyd, she was predeceased by four brothers, Harold, Manuel, Harry, and Charles Stephanian, and a grandson, James Simonds, Jr.

She was the beloved mother of Beverly Burgess and her husband William of Arlington, Kenneth Palmer and his friend Joanne, Roger Palmer and his wife Janice, and Judith Simonds and her husband James, all of Woburn, Janice “Dolly” Jablonski of N. Billerica and her late husband Edward, and Robert Palmer and his wife Carolyn of Wakefield.

Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Saturday, February 17th, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Interment will be private.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
