beloved husband of Frances C. (Costello) Russo. Devoted father of John “Jack” Russo, Jr. and his wife Margaret, Beverly McLaughlin and her husband John, all of Woburn, Francis Russo of Deerfield Beach, FL, and the late Joseph Russo. Brother of Joseph Russo of Medford and the late Felix Russo and Marilyn Harrod. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday, February 9th, at 10:15 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 11. Calling hours Thursday 6 to 9 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Donations may be made in John’s memory to Mass. Lions Eye Research, PO Box 6050, New Bedford, MA 02742.

John Russo of Woburn passed away at Winchester Hospital Wednesday evening, February 7th, 2001, at the age of 94. He was the husband of Frances C. (Costello) Russo for over seventy years.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late John and Maria (Toranto) Russo. He was educated in Cambridge and lived in Somerville for several years before taking up residence in Woburn in 1940.

Mr. Russo was employed by the South Postal Annex in South Boston for over thirty-nine years. He retired at the age of seventy.

He and his wife traveled extensively following his retirement.

He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Russo, a brother, Felix Russo, and a sister, Marilyn Harrod.

Surviving in addition to his wife Frances are two sons, John “Jack” Russo, Jr. and his wife Margaret of Woburn, and Francis Russo of Deerfield Beach, Florida;

and a daughter, Beverly McLaughlin and her husband John of Woburn.

Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, tomorrow morning at 10:15, followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 11. Interment will follow at Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn.

Calling hours at the funeral home are this evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
