OBITUARY
Marie G. (Crisafulli) LoCicero of Burlington, formerly of Lexington, passed away June 22nd at Lahey Hospital after a brief illness. Marie was 80 years of age.
Born in Belmont, Marie was raised by her mother, Lavinia (Restuccia). Always having a passion for helping people, she worked at the Fernald School and McLean Hospital in her younger years. After graduating Belmont High School, Marie was accepted into the Malden Hospital Nursing Program. Upon graduating, she began her professional endeavors working at Winchester Hospital followed by a position at Waltham Hospital. Finally winding down her career, she retired from the Pine Knoll Nursing Home in Lexington.
In 1966, Marie married the love of her life, Louis A. LoCicero, at St. Lukes Church in Belmont. This was the beginning of 47 years of marriage where they lovingly raised 4 children together. Marie was the anchor of the family. She was always involved in all of her childrens activities including many hours spent at the ice rink with her daughter, Susan.
Marie was a very crafty woman and used her skills as the wardrobe coordinator of the HAYDONETTES, a Lexington synchronized ice skating club. She also was known for making bows. When Marie retired from her career as a nurse, it was not the end but just beginning. In her new role as Grammy, Marie immersed herself in the raising and caring of all 7 of her grandchildren.
Sadly, Marie is predeceased by her mother, Lavinia Restuccia, her husband Louis A. LoCicero and her sister-in-law Phyllis Crisafulli. She is lovingly survived by her children, Susan Finney and her husband Rick of Amesbury, Louis LoCicero and his wife Elaine of Billerica, David LoCicero and his wife Jennifer of Burlington, and James LoCicero and his wife Kimberly of Woburn; her siblings, John Crisafulli and his wife Gretchen of Westford, Charles Crisafulli and David Crisafulli, both formerly of Belmont and Port St. Lucie FL; her grandchildren Amber, Brett, Bella, Alyssa, Livia, Milena, and James Jr. A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Saturday, June 25th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn at 10. So many great memories of Aunt Marie especially when she disciplined Louis, David, and Jamie at family gatherings; always made me laugh till she disciplined me as well! I sure miss the Italian Thanksgivings in Lexington with the pasta, meatballs, and castagni’s as Aunt Marie and Uncle Louis made the day so special. She did a phenominal job of raising such successful children which I can only hope to emulate; truly a special person.
Although I am unable to make the funeral, please know that I carry the highest respect for the LoCicero family and still maintain the values you all instilled in my younger years.

Susan and family, We were all so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. She was a great lady. I’ll never forget that she was by my grandmother’s side at Pine Knoll when she passed before my mother could even get there. AND…she was just as much a part of the Haydenettes as we were!
Your parents were very special to all of us. The loss of your mom is great, but hopefully in time you can take comfort that she is with the love of her life again. Her spirit will live on in your hearts always.
Will deepest sympathy, Rosemary Fischer (Abruzzese).
Dearest Susan and family,
This is always so hard to do … I am sadden by the loss of your mother . Mrs. LiCicero was a very kind and Gentle soul . The memories of her are from 30 years of skating and playing ” my I ” with all the ladies .
There were many of times your mother would have incredible wisdom to share and give . I appreciated all she had .
I always remember her for when we would see if she was able to come out with us she would say .. I’m cleaning the house today , she would dedicate a whole day to cleaning I have never forgot that. Her hugs and love for others was a gift.
Mark and I will not be there so please know that we are very sad and our prays and thoughts are with you and your family .
