  1. Patty and I worked together at IUHR. She infused our “department,” which was often only half-full on any given day, with an incredible amount of energy. Patty radiated enthusiasm and optimism. She was easy to love. Patty was a good friend, loyal, adventurous, and just.
Professionally, Patty was organized and efficient. Her expertise was in creating systems to manage the “bear” of administrivia that accompanies federal research grants. She also worked to create a seamless student employment process — across changing students, projects, staff and so forth. Patty was unique. IUHR was fortunate to have her.
I was fortunate to know Patty.
    Patty, I miss you.
Mrs. Farrell, your daughter was an incredible woman who touched many lives. I am very sorry for your loss.

  2. Patty was such a bright light and will continue to shine in all of our hearts.
She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

  3. To Patty’s Family & Friends,
I simply wanted to express my heartfelt sympathy at the tragic loss of wonderful Patty. Of course, I cannot put everything into words but if nothing else – to let you know the impact she had on us (especially those of us you may not know). She was kind and willing and always ready with a smile. I came to know Patty through our work together – – and always appreciated her honesty, diligence, and laughter. And that smile – – whenever, no matter what. And that impeccable sense of style! I will miss her infectious smile, sincere thoughtfulness, and dedication. I will treasure fond memories of a caring and loving person.

  4. I was very sad to hear about Patty’s passing. I worked with her since 2011 and I will remember her positive, upbeat personality fondly. She was always smiling and willing to help but most of all, I remember her many spontaneous moments of kindness. I will treasure all the happy memories I have of her and I am lucky to have several of those.

Much sympathy and warm wishes to all her family and friends.

  5. I am so deeply sad about Patricia’s passing. Patty’s departure has left a great emptiness in our workplace that we are trying to bear by remembering and treasuring the good memories we have of her. There are SO MANY! Dear Patty, it is hard to believe that I won’t be hearing your explosive and contagious laughter anymore. Your generosity, upbeat personality and great sense of humor made me reach out to you every time I could [“knock, knock, Patricia?”—with my Spanish accent that made you smile at times]. Wherever you are, dear Patty, my love and gratitude to you for all the moments you gave me.
My prayers to Patty’s mother, brothers and to all those whose love surrounded her.

  6. There is no way to express the emptiness in my heart for the loss of my lifelong friend “Patty” with just a few words. We have gone from infancy to adulthood together and have always been there for each other. I already miss you Patty…rest in peace my friend

  7. I also met Patty on the bus to Boston and would give her rides to and from the bus stop when I saw her walking. In that time I knew her to be a vibrant, caring and truly specal person. She brought a warm light into every life she touched. I was shocked and saddened when I became aware of her passing. May she rest in peace.
