Robert W. “Bob” Deegan passed away peacefully at the Chelsea Soldiers Home, Sunday April 28th. Husband of the late Maureen (Bruce) Deegan, he was seventy three years of age.

Born and raised in New York City, he was educated there, and was a graduate of Catholic High School with the Class of 1957. Following High School he enlisted in the United States Marines, where he served his country proudly. After serving his country he began working for Pan American Airlines. Able to do more travelling he hopped a plane for Europe for one of his vacations. While vacationing in Mallorca, Spain he met a lovely nurse, Maureen Bruce. Maureen was from England, but at the time was working in Spain. Mr. Deegan remained in Europe for several years, they married and later brought their dear son Sean into the world.

They moved back to the states, arriving in Woburn in 1971 and had made the South End of Woburn their home. Mr. Deegan began working as a pipe-fitter, which was a position he held until his retirement. Sadly, Mrs. Deegan passed away in 1996.

Mr. Deegan and his son were dedicated to each other, watching over and taking good care of each other. Over the years he and his son were BC season ticket holders, enjoying all the games there at the Heights.

Being of Irish decent, he celebrated his ethnicity and was very proud of his heritage and was a member of the Irish American club in the South End of Woburn. Throughout his lifetime, Mr. Deegan devoted himself to his family, country and friends, all of whom shared many special moments throughout his life.

Mr. Deegan was predeceased by his wife, Maureen (Bruce) Deegan.

He is lovingly survived by his son, Sean M. Deegan of Woburn.
