OBITUARY

Mary McLaughlin, a fixture in the South End of Woburn for over ninety-eight years, passed away at Winchester Hospital on Tuesday, April 9th, following an illness of just a few days. She was the daughter of the late Edward P. and Katherine T. (Weafer) McLaughlin.

Born and raised in the South End of the city, she was a 1932 graduate of St. Charles High School. She went to the work for the US Government in the Defense Department during World War II, and remained there for over thirty years. She was deeply involved in the Immaculate Conception Parish for many years, and later St. Charles Church in Woburn.

Mary enjoyed socializing, and in her last six years at New Horizons in Woburn, was always the one encouraging her neighbors to join her in an outing. She remained active and engaged throughout.

Preceding her in death were two sisters, Kathryn T. McLaughlin, DHM, and Dorothy E. Foley, her niece, Maureen Foley, and nephew, Bernard Foley.

Mary was the cherished aunt of Kathryn Kane, Dorothy O’Keeffe, Ann Burket, and Thomas Foley, is further survived by many grandnieces and nephews and great-grandnieces and nephews.
