CHRISTINE M. MURPHY – of Westford, passed away at Lowell General Hospital on Sunday, May 10th, at sixty-one years of age. Born in Stoneham, she was the beloved daughter of the late Donald and Sandra (Vaughn) Murphy.

Christine was a strong, spirited woman who truly lived life her own way. Small in stature but tough as nails, she had an unforgettable sense of humor and a personality that could light up any room. Whether making people laugh, offering comfort, or simply being herself, Christine left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

A graduate of North Reading High School, Christine worked for many years as a waitress and bartender, including at the Ninety Nine Restaurant. She loved music, art, painting, reading, card games, and being outdoors. Gifted with artistic talent passed down from her mother, Christine especially loved sketching and painting, something her children admired greatly about her.

Her children fondly remember dancing and singing with their mother in the kitchen, her pink lipstick and hairspray, and the way she could make even ordinary moments special. She taught her children strength, independence, humor, and compassion. One cherished memory shared by her family was how she comforted her children during thunderstorms by telling them the angels in Heaven were bowling.

Christine was the cherished mother of Rachel E. Exum and her husband Anthony J. of South Carolina, William G. Richardson IV of Lawrence, Patricia R. Richardson of Andover, Jerrica M. Richardson of South Carolina, and Harley D. Richardson of Saugus. She was the devoted sister of Pamela Tolson of South Carolina, Daniel Murphy, and the late Robin Murphy. Christine was the loving grandmother of George Milton Exum and Ava Maria Richardson, and now reunited in Heaven with her precious granddaughter, Macie Lee Vitale.

Her Funeral Mass will take place in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, on Wednesday, May 20th at 10 a.m. Burial will follow. Calling hours will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
