JANICE ANN (MARIANO) HEMMING, of Woburn, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 7th at the age of seventy-three.

Janice was the beloved wife of fifty-one years to Richard H. Hemming, with whom she shared a quiet and devoted life filled with love, loyalty, and companionship. Together they built a home centered around family, comfort, and simple joys.

Born in Cambridge, she was the cherished daughter of the late Angelo and Yolanda Mariano. Janice graduated from Medford High School and later worked for Comcast as a dispatcher. Though she was naturally reserved and kept a small circle, those who truly knew Janice understood her caring heart and unwavering devotion to the people she loved. In recent years, especially following Covid and throughout her illness, she and Richard spent much of their time quietly at home, though Janice always enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends through phone calls and thoughtful conversations.

Janice found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved animals, especially cats, and had a special soft spot for her beloved cat, Dunkin. She volunteered with the MSPCA, enjoyed vegetable gardening, and took pride in cooking traditional Italian meals for her family. She was happiest caring for the people and pets she loved most, and her loyal and nurturing nature will be remembered always.

You could not ask for a better sister in law, always remembering birthdays and special dates and always showing concern for family and friends even while having her own health battle.
Over the past few years Janice developed a strong relationship with God and found great comfort in prayer.
Revelation 14:13 “Blessed are they that rest in the Lord that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them”
