Anita Fedora (Garant) Tipping MacKay – of Winchester, died peacefully, March 31st at the age of ninety-nine. She was the beloved wife of the late William L. Tipping Sr. and the late Malcolm N. MacKay.
Born in New Bedford, MA, Anita was a daughter of the late Percival and Aurora (Couet) Garant.
After marrying her first husband Bill, they moved to various places around the World as he served in the Armed Forces. During that time, she was a secretary for the Military Officers Association of America.
Together they started a family to whom she was dedicated to her family. She loved traveling and seeing different parts of the country with her husband’s Naval career. As her children grew, she returned to the work force and worked as a buyer and sales person for Jordan Marsh. She loved to make her own dresses for herself and her daughters, as well as making curtains, table clothes and others things. She had a keen sense of fashion, style and always looked her best.
Anita had a strong Catholic faith and upbringing which she carried throughout her life. She loved God and all others! She was a people person by nature and built deep and lasting friendships everywhere she went. After William Tipping died, she remarried Malcolm Nickerson MacKay who was an angel to Anita and our family.
To Anita, nothing was more important than family. She will deeply missed but never forgotten by the ones she loved most.
