Alexander  “Shanky” F. Roscillo passed away at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, Monday, March 7th.  The beloved son of the late Frank and Barbara (Chester) Roscillo, he was sixty six years of age.

Born in Winchester, “Shanky“ as he was called throughout his lifetime, was one of five children growing up.  He was raised and educated in Lowell, and had made his home in Woburn for a good number of years.

Shanky worked as a  carpenter. Building homes to their completion, and then on to the next!  He was a dedicated, and hard worker, always taking great pride in his workmanship.

Tragically, in the late eighties, as a result of an accident, Shanky’s  ability to carry on with his regular day to day activities was affected.

Shanky became involved in assisted living and certainly made every effort to maintain.

Walking was an everyday activity for Shanky as he loved the outside.  Going to the track for horse racing was also an enjoyable time. Shanky’s younger brother John was a constant support throughout these years.  Taking him to breakfasts, dinner, long walks, out to his home for the holidays and family cookouts, Shanky was always included and John made sure of it!  Shanky also thoroughly enjoyed the many times they would venture out for Chinese food, his favorite!

Shanky was a man with a big heart and huge smile!  For well over the last twenty five years, he was encouraged to, continue his love of talking and being with people , who truly enjoyed being with him.

Sadly John was predeceased by his  parents Frank and Barbara and younger brother Robert. Shanky was the cherished brother of John Roscillo, Anna Roscillo, Maria Roscillo.  Dear friend and former wife Virginia (Nardone) Roscillo and his children, Robert and Brian Muldoon, Frank and Christopher Roscillo.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Calling hours in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn,  Saturday evening, March 12th,  from 4 – 6:45 p.m. with a Service to start at 6:45.  Burial will be private.

Today I say goodbye to my first love, my best friend and the father of my children.

Shanky. My best friend, husband, brother, uncle and father to four amazing sons, each of who you loved so dearly.
I’m not sure who or what brought us together back in 1977, but I’m  forever grateful that we were.
The good the bad the ugly. We lived thru it all and I’m grateful to say we remained good friends till the end. I only wish I was there at the end to hold your hand and say good bye.
I Remember how you loved me. I remember the crazy ass things we did together. I Remember teaching you how to ice skate on horn pond, hanging out on center street with Paul and Roxanne and brother Bobby, and of course your younger brother Johnny, always hiding in the wings looking to see what we were up too. You lived and loved us all.

So now I’m suppose to say goodbye. Goodbye to you forever. But I can not.
So instead  I will say I Love you and look forward to that day that we do meet again.

    Love
    Virginia ❤
